About school...

The primary school of Axos is found in the district of Pella, which belongs to the larger region of Central Macedonia in Greece.
Axos is a village of nearly 3000 inhabitants, built at the foot of mount Paiko. It is a village of vivid cultural activity. It is situated in a distance of 3 kilometres from the town of Giannitsa and nearly 10 kilometres from the village of Ancient Pella, where one can see the palace of Alexander the Great, the archaeological site of Ancient Pella and the Archaeological Museum. It is also 25 kilometres away from the archaeological site of Vergina, where the tomb of King Philip of Macedonia lies. Finally, the second largest city of Greece, Thessaloniki, is only 45 kilometres away.
Our school is lodged in a neoclassical building dated back in 1928. The eleven teachers who work here are responsible for 78 students and are open to any innovative projects. In the school year 2012-2013 we are already carrying out projects on Environmental Education and Health Education.
